Azarenka also out in Australian Open

After Novak Djokovic now its Victoria Azarenka who was thrown out in the Australian Open which means there will be new champions in Melbourne.

Agnieszka Radwanska draws an upset over the 2013 Aussie Open Champion consuming only two hours in a three-set game, 6-1,5-7,6-0 for the quarterfinals.

“I said to myself one day I have to have one step forward and do the semifinal and I am so, so happy that I did it finally,” said Radwanska.

Radwanska showed a precise game, hitting drop shots and not letting the second-seeded Azarenka to controll the match with big-swinging rallies instead saving her power and waited for every opportunity to smash the ball strongly.

This is only the third victory of fifth-seed Radwanska against Azarenka in their 13 duels, and also ended her seven consecutive setbacks against the latter.

“I knew she’s very great player, very consistent,” she claimed. “I just had to play my best tennis, even better and play aggressive and go for every shot I could.”
