“This was our schedule and we’re gonna stick with it,” said UFL Media Officer Jing Jamlang in an interview with Spin.ph after issue on airing between PBA and UFL broke-up in the social media.
Basketball fans went mad when the TV partner Sports5 at AksyonTV did not air live the PBA Quarterfinal match between Petron and Barako instead they broadcasted UFL game as it was in the schedule.
“There was never any case of PBA against UFL or choosing between the two. It was always — this was our schedule and we’re gonna stick
with it,” UFL media officer Jing Jamlang told Spin.ph .
UFL aired only once a week, which is every Tuesday, a day lesser than last year‘s TV coverage. But this March, it will change its schedule moving the live airing from Tuesday to Thursday each week.
“So we were expecting na talagang magpapatuloy yung schedule namin as is. No issues between us and the PBA,” Jamlang said. “It’s a nice sentiment to have, but I don’t think it’s a case of choosing football over basketball. This is just the schedule. Sinusunod lang what was agreed upon beforehand.”
