The pregnant nun who gave birth to a baby boy in the Central Italian City of Rieti admitted that she was unaware and had no idea that she was pregnant. The 31-year-old nun was rushed to a hospital with abdominal pains.

The young mother who hails from El Salvador named her newborn baby boy as Francis, in honor of the current head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis.
The pregnant nun became one of the hottest topics on various social media sites and blogs for the past few days after the news broke out that a certain nun got pregnant without her knowledge.
Meanwhile the mayor where the incident happened, Rieti Mayor Simone Petrangeli appealed to the public and media to respect the woman’s privacy. The news has drawn international attention to the Italian small city with a total of 47,700 inhabitants.
According to BBC, the nun called the ambulance on Wednesday morning and a few hours later she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The people at the hospital begun collecting clothes and donations for the mother and her child according to Italian media.
The DailyMail, one of Europe’s most popular website published the first photo of the pregnant nun on their website and identified her as Roxana Rodriguez.
