PAGASA: LPA Updates January 14-15 (5PM-5AM) Weather Bulletin

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that as of 5:00 PM of January 14, 2014, there is no Tropical Cyclone currently in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Although there’s is no reported typhoon, the Philippines particularly in major parts of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will experience the Low Pressure Area that alreay wrought havoc in Mindanao through flash floods and landslides.

PAGASA released their 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM updates for January 14 and 15, 2014. According to PAGASA at around 4:00 of January 14, the Low Pressure area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 50 kilometers South of Guiuan, Eastern Samar or 80 Km. Northeast of Surigao City with coordinates at 10.5ºN, 126.0ºE. The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) affects Northern and Central Luzon.

The Regions of Bicol, Eastern and Central Visayas, CARAGA, Northern Mindanao and Davao will experience Cloudy Skies with Moderate to Occasionally Heavy Rainshowers and Thunerstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be Cloudy with Isolated Light Rains. Moderate to Strong Winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the Northeast to Northwest over Mindanao.

The Coastal Waters throughout the archipelago will be Moderate to Rough.
