LPA “Agaton” Weather Bulletin Update (January 13) (5AM-5PM)

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that as of January 13, 2014, there is no tropical storm affecting the Philippines but the Low Pressure Area (LPA) affects Mindanao Area.

According to the January 14, 2014 (5AM-5PM) weather bulletin released by PAGASA at around 4:00 AM in the morning of January 14, the LPA was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Surigao del Sur with coordinates at (9.0ºN, 126.0ºE). The northeast monsoon (amihan) will affect Northern and Central Luzon.

If the Low Pressure Area affecting the country will develop into a storm, it will be called as “Agaton,” the first tropical storm of the year 2014.

Here’s the PAGASA Weather Forecast:

Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas will experience cloudy skies with Moderate to Heavy Rainshowers and Thunderstorms which may trigger Flashfloods and Landslides.

Bicol Region, MIMAROPA and the rest of the Visayas will have Cloudy Skies with Light to Moderate Rainshowers and Thunderstorms. The Metro Manila and the rest of Luzonn will be Cloudy with Isolated Light Rains.

Moderate to Strong Winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the Northeast to Northwest over Mindanao. The coastal waters will throughout the archipelago will be Moderate to Rough.
