Christian Standhardinger: Fil-German Basketball Star in US NCAA

A Filipino-German basketball star identified as Christian Standhardinger is currently making waves in the United States National Collegiate Athletic (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation for his basketball skills.

The 24-year-old Fil-German forward is one of the star player in the University of Hawaii basketball team, the same school that produced former Talk ‘N Text star and current Meralco Bolts wingman Jared Dillinger.

The 6-foot-8, Christian Standhinger averaged with 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds for the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors last season. He was also named as the Most Outstanding Player of his team. 

During this season, the Fil-German Christian Standhinger continued to showcase his fine form, as he averaged 18.4 points and 7.2 rebounds in 13 games so far. The Fil-German basketball star has been in the radar of Filipino scouts since the year 2009, when he was identified by SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national coach Rajko Toroman.

Christian Standhardinger was born in Munich, Germany to a German father and a Filipino mother identified as Liz Hermoso. He previously played as a football player during his early days, but later he learned basketball when he was taught by his grandfather Pablo, who played basketball in the Philippines.

The Fil-German basketball star began his collegiate career at the University of Nebraska but he later transferred to the University of Hawaii where he honed his basketball skills.
