Bishop Marlo Peralta Appointed by Pope Francis as Archbishop of Nueva Segovia

The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Marlo Peralta of Alaminos, Pangasinan as the new archbishop of Nueva Segovia in Ilocos Sur.

According to the records of the Catholic Church, Bishop Marlo Peralta became a priest during the year 1975. He had been the bishop of Alaminos, Pangasinan since the year 2006, prior to his appointment as the new Archbishop of Nueva Segovia. 

Archbishop Marlo Peralta was appointed by Pope Franics, he replaces retired Archbishop Ernesto Salgado, who served the archdiocese of Nueva Segovia for eight years.

Archbishop Ernesto Salgado turned 77 years old last month, he will be replaced by Bishop Marlo Peralta as announced by the website of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. 

The archdiocese of Nueva Segovia in Ilocos Sur, has a population of 718,000 with an estimated 85 percent of the population were Roman Catholics.

According to the CBCP, there is no date has been set for the installation of the new archbishop of Nueva Segovia.
