Casey Neistat Spent Advertising Budget for Yolanda Aid Video

Casey Neistat, an American film director and producer  made a heartwarming act after the veteran filmaker and 20th Century Fox-US based producing company agreed to used the $25, 000 (P1.1M+) promotional budget for Ben Stiller upcoming film to aid in relief of recent super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims.

“I often get solicitations for work, all kinds of companies, people, organizations etc asking if I would be interested in making a video for them. I was really concerned after the typhoon,” the director explained via YouTube when told to do a promotional video for movie “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”

“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” is an upcoming Hollywood movie featuring award-winning actor Ben Stiller and instead of traditional promotions for the film, Casey Neistat decided to used the promotional movie budget in order to help the victims of  worst typhoon hit Tacloban City, Leyte.

The supposed-to-be-promotional budget benefited more than 10, 000 survivors and the team as well provide tools for rehabilitation of damaged houses and medical supplies.

The 6-minute video shows Typhoon Yolanda aftermath and the group’s effort in order to help the victims.

“Never have I met such people with the resilience of these typhoon victims. there was one thing that stuck out, one big huge tiny thing, that was; of everyone we were face to face with, thousands of people, not once, at anytime for any reason did anyone complain. No one. Their focus was on rebuilding and healing, not sympathy,” Casey Neistat wrote as he give tribute to Yolanda survivors.
