Bea Rose Santiago Fifth Filipino Winner of Miss International

The winner of this year’s Miss International beauty pageant, Miss Bea Rose Santiago of the Philippines is the fifth representative from the country who dominated the beauty pageant, considered by experts as one of the Top Four major title worldwide.

The 22-year-old Masbate-born beauty queen joined this year’s beauties who successfully captured major international beauty pageant title, Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

Bea Rose Santiago is also the fifth Filipina who captured the Miss International title following the footsteps of the following Miss International winners:

  • Lara Quigaman – 2005
  • Melanie Marquez – 1979
  • Aurora Pijuan – 1970
  • Gemma Teresa Cruz – 1964

According to some pageant experts the Philippines is officially the Country of the Year after placing in all Big Four international beauty pageants in 2013, after Venezuela failed to place in Miss International 2013.

The Big Four Major beauty pageant in the world includes the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth. The Philippines is considered as a powerhouse in beauty pageant after the country captured the Miss World and Miss International 2013.

Beauty pageant powerhouse Venezuela was able to bring home the Miss Universe 2013 and the Miss Earth 2013 title. The Philippines is also listed as the only country in Asia that captured a total of Five titles in Miss International only one title behind Venezuela who got Six overall titles.
