Twelve Towns Remained No Power After Yolanda

Super typhoon Yolanda that struck some part of Visayas which happened to enter in Philippine Area of Responsibilty last November 8, destroyed some of the vital infrastructures as well as agriculture which also lead to the lost of electricity.

As the Christmas is approaching, there are still twelve towns in Visayas that will celebrate “Black Christmas” due to lack of electricity.

In regard with this no power issue, Sonia San Diego- National Deputy Electric Administrator, relayed the issue to the House of Representatives Committee on Energy that 12 towns in the Yolanda- devastated areas have yet to restore power.

According to the statement,  Sonia San Diego said  Yolanda disrupted power service in 133 towns of which service has been restored to 89 while 32 towns are ready to receive power.

To give solution to this problem, authorities (–foul word(s) removed–)ured that on December 23, the towns which were yet restored to the power grid are meant to be re-energized at the town level.

Meanwhile, Sonia San Diego didn’t give any comprehensive statement when will the restoration will finish after Yolanda brought terrible effect to Visayas.

However, Jericho Petilla- Energy Secretary  said in an interview that he will (–foul word(s) removed–)ured to restore service to all devastated areas on or before Christmas.
