The World Supremacy Battlegrounds is considered as the biggest and most prestigious international hip hop street dance competition in the Southern Hemispher. The competition was held from December 7-8, 2013.

Filipino group FMD Xtreme, a local dance group composed of 11 members, defeated other teams from Australia, Japan and other countries as they bagged the first place in the annual international hip hop dance competition which is celebrating its ninth year.

The latest achievement of the Philippines made it three feat in a row after Filipino teams placed first-place during the previous years 2011 and 20112 courtesy of Boyz Unlimited.

Aside from FMD Xtreme, other hip hop dance groups A-Team Varsity and indk, also earned first-place finishes in the Varsity and Monster Crew divisions, respectively.

During an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, the A-Team dance members shared their surprises with their achievement. They were quoted as saying “It was really hard for us because they just call the top five for every category and another Filipino team, indk, just won the Monster Crew Division. At some point, we felt pressured but we just trusted in the team and God-willing, we were called champions,” the A-Team said.
