Miss World 2013 winner Megan Young’s hugely popular coral gown used during the Miss World coronation night in Indonesia will be auctioned off next week to raise funds for the survivors of the super typhoon Yolanda that hits the Visayas on November 8.
According to the designer of Megan Young’s gown, Francis Libiran, the gown used by the reigning Miss World 2013 will be part of an auction as confirmed by Libiran during an interview with “Mornings@ANC” on Thursday.
The auction for the benefits of typhoon victims will feature a total of 15 pieces in what was referred to as a “silent auction” some of the dresses worn by “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks, and the wedding gown of actress Maricar Reyes will be available to auctioneers.
Francis Libiran’s business partner, Arsi Baltazar was quoted as saying, “We also have gowns worn by Tyra Banks, by Philippine superstar Anne Curtis, by ABS-CBN stars Kathryn Bernardo, Jessy Mendiola and Maricar Reyes, the wedding gown of Maricar Reyes, and a host of others. We hope that on Monday, we will be able to raise a lot of money for the benefit of Sagip Kapamilya,” Baltazar stated.
The auction of the precious gowns will be held on November 25 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel which coincides with Libiran’s “Metrowear Icon” fashion show, a celebration of Francis Libiran’s 15th year in the industry.
Kapamilya stars such as Anne Curtis and Kim Chiu, Liza Soberano, Coleen Garcia, Maricar Reyes and Karylle, beauty queens Shamcey Supsup, Venus Raj and Gwen Ruais, and models Kelly Misa and Wendy Tabusalla will model the 100 new pieces from Libiran in the “Metrowear Icon” fashion show.
