The popular saying “Vox Populi, Vox Dei” is an old proverb that means “The voice of the people [is] the voice of God.”

The 40-year-old Nancy Binay suggested that instead of going after those elected by the people, it would be more appropriate to monitor the actions of one family appointed to key posts in the administration.

Senator Binay was quoted as saying, “Dapat mas bantayan natin yung appointing members of one family in key and high positions of government,” Binay said. According to some news media outlet, one of the families occupying high positions in the government is the family of Budget Secretary Butch Abad, whose daughter Julia is the head of Presidential Management Staff (PMS).

The honorable Senator Nancy Binay is the daughter of the Vice President of the Philippines, VP Jejomar Binay and sister of Makati Mayor Junjun Binay and House Deputy Majority Leader Abigail Binay.

The Anti-Political Dynasty Bill was already approved at the committee level at the House of Representatives on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, one of the landmark bill in the history of Philippine Congress.

  1. This is exactly why the anti dynasty law is needed and also why it will never p(removed).

While the Constitution prohibits political dynasties, Congress has failed to p(removed) the implementing law.
15 years of deliberate inaction by legislators on anti-political dynasty bills.

The Philippines is the “world capital of political dynasties,” with 178 active dynasties.

18 of the current 23 senators are members of political families.
80 provinces, 94 percent or 73 out of 80 have political dynasties

What the people are asking for is for the political dynasties that control 80% of the senate and 30 percent of the house to vote for a law getting rid of themselves.

Those dynasties own the government, they will never p(removed) the law even tho the constitution calls for it.
