The capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh suffered heavy rains that cause flooding as confirmed by the Civil Defense of Saudi Arabia. According to the official report of the Civil Defense, Riyadh received more than 3632 reports of floods during the hours of 6:00 PM yesterday up to 12:30 AM on November 17, 2013.
Road traffic within the vicinity of Riyadh was disrupted and some people were trapped on flooded streets, people in Riyadh are urged to stay indoors until the flood subside.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Education Mohammad Aldkhina have also announced the suspension of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) in general education schools on November 17 following heavy rains in Riyadh.
Cl(–foul word(s) removed–) were also suspended at the Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University, King Saud University, Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University and King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
According to Riyadh Civil Defense spokesman Lt. Col. Muhammad Al-Hamadi, rain was most intense in the south-west region of Riyadh namely Al Hair, Al Shafa, Namar, Dirab, Al Sweidi and Exits 5 & 6.
