Arnel Pineda, the lead vocalist of the international rock band “Journey” has announced that they would donate two million food meals to victims of super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) according to a news report by CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
The Filipino lead vocalist of the band said his foundation was working to aid the victims of the typhoon that battered the Visayas regions last week. Pineda was quoted as saying, “I just do what I can do to be one of the people who make a difference,” said Pineda in an interview with CNN reporter Anderson Cooper.
The Filipino international singer added further that “You don’t have to be a hero… these poor people don’t deserve to have something like this,” Pineda said. The band “Journey will be donating $350,000 to help the victims of super typhoon Yolanda.
The amount will be donated to the emergency food relief efforts through the World Food Program USA, the site was quoted as saying “Don’t Stop Believing, help is on the way for the people of the Philippines,” the site quoted Pineda as saying.
Journey made the donation along with Live Nation Entertainment, Creative Artists Agency and their manager, John Baruck. Journey is composed of band members Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo and Arnel Pineda.
