The President of the Republic of the Philippines Pres. Benigno Simeon Aquino III is scheduled to make a statement on current national issue tonight, Wednesday, October 30, 2013.

The statement of the President is scheduled between 6:30 and 7:30 PM through various national TV networks. The speech will be made amid opinion surveys on the congressional pork barrel showing heightened public concern over corruption.
According to Presidential Communications Group Secretary Sonny Coloma, among the current issues to be tackled by the President may be the Priority Development (–foul word(s) removed–)istance Fund (PDAF) and the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP).
Secretary Coloma added further that Malacanang is already talking to networks to preempt prime time shows tonight, October 20, 2013. The Presidential statement also comes at a time when Aquino’s approval ratings are going down because of the pork barrel controversy.
Aside from the pork barrel issue, the President’s statement also coincides with the recent development of the Janet Lim-Napoles case wherein its lead legal counsel decided to withdraw from the controversial case filed by whistleblower Benhur Luy.
