Mo Twister Criticized Ara Arida’s Comments on Latinas

Controversial DJ Mo Twister criticizes the Philippines representative to the Miss Universe 2013 in Moscow Russia, after Ariella Arida’s comments on Latinas communication skills. Before Ara Arida’s departure to Moscow, she was interviewed on national TV through ABS-CBN’s ANC hosted by Karen Davila.

The 36-year-old DJ Mo Twister posted on Instagram a 15-second video clip of Ara Arida’s interview on ANC’s Headstart with Karen Davila with the following comments:

“I don’t intend to bash on our Ms Philippines here but how the f__k is this not considered offensive toward Latinas? I mean, we ALWAYS get so sensitive when someone says anything about us Filipinos (see Dan Brown, Alec Baldwin, and every other time we screamed murder) yet our girl representing our country, in a legit interview regarding the competition, says Latinas can’t put a sentence together in English. That would royally piss me off if I were of Latin descent. I’m pretty sure we would lose our minds if we heard an interview of a contestant saying “Filipinos can’t string a sentence together” and our Senator/Congressman would persona non grata that (–foul word(s) removed–) immediately. I’m also quite certain that a few of the Latina contestants can cook up a few intelligible lines in English that would leave Ariella here dizzy in her heels. Best of luck to her in the competition. Now back to my NBA Fantasy Team.”

The DJ obviously, didn’t seem to like how the Philippines bet to the Miss Universe pageant responded to Karen Davila’s question during her live interview on ANC before she left for Moscow on October 21, 2013.

The host of the show, Karen Davila also express her opinion saying that Arida’s answer was only taken out of context. The news anchor responded to DJ Mo Twister with the following comments:

“Hi @djmotwister! Thank you for watching #ANCHeadstart To put in context for your many followers that part of the interview – there was a question from a viewer on Twitter, asking her command of English. She explained many contestants didn’t speak English perfectly too and also need a translator. Salamat DJMo.” Davila commented.

  2. Who cares about what DJ Mo says. That guy is ‘kulang sa pansin’ and ‘nagmamalinis ‘ when he himself had said and done some bad things in the past using the social media
