Although Jeron Teng scored with just 8 points including the most crucial shot, he drove down the lane and sank a short, turnaround jumper over Ateneo’s defender Chris Newsome to break a 64-all tie and leave with only 1.9 seconds on the clock not enough for Ateneo to bounce back.
Almond Vosotros led La Salle with a game-high 19 points while Jason Perkins added 13. With the Green Archers victory they moved to solo third place with a 7-4 record.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles saw their five-game winning streak snapped and dropped down to a tie with UST for the fourth and fifth spots at 6-5. Juami Tiongson led the Blue Eagles with 14 markers while Nico Elorde added 13. Ravena had 12, but had five turnovers.
