The Alaska Aces continued its winning streak by defeating Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena with the final score at 102-99, improving the Aces record to 2-1 win-loss card.

The Brgy. Ginebra Gin Kings dropped their second straight loss and right now has a total of 1-3 win-loss card in the PBA Governor’s Cup 2013. The Gin Kings were ahead in the last quarter with 96-89 advantage after a combined effort of Lowhorn, Baracael and Caguioa who sparked a 7-0 run.
Alaska import Wendell McKines scored a three-point play touched off a 10-2 run to take the lead, 99-98 in the final stretch. Sonny Thoss made a split free throws which gave the Aces a two-point lead with just 42.1 seconds left.
LA Tenorio drove hard and got fouled but he managed to score one of his two free throws as Ginebra remained behind by a point at 100-99, with just 34.7 seconds left.
Cyrus Baguio found McKines for a layup with 11 seconds left in the ensuing possession, and Alaska foiled a couple of Ginebra attempts, including a desperation shot from Mark Caguioa that drew contact from Dondon Hontiveros, to secure the victory.
