The government announced earlier that work in Metro Manila offices of various government agencies resumes on Tuesday but right now, Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda decided to suspend work due to severe flooding in parts of Metro Manila.

“In the light of the severe flooding in some parts of Metro Manila and with the Orange Rainfall Advisory, upon both the recommendation of MMDA and PAGASA, the Executive Secretary has ordered today the suspension of work in the government offices in Metro Manila today, August 20 except those involved in disaster risk reduction and management,” Lacierda said in a text message sent at around 7:15 a.m.
PAGASA declared an orange rainfall warning at around 5:00 AM, the “orange rainfall alert” means “heavy to intense rains.” It is expected to be experienced in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales, Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga, and Occidental Mindoro.
