The PBA Governors Cup will feature four teams making their debut game on Friday night, August 16 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters will take on Barako Bull at around 5:15 PM.

The Meralco Bolts will face the Petron Boosters at around 7:30 PM. The broadcast of the games will be shown live through IBC 15. The Tropang Texters will feature their import Tony Mitchell against Barako Bull’s athletic forward out of Texas Tech, Mike Singletary.

The Tropang Texters import Tony Mitchell is a familiar face among PBA fans after he suited up for Talk ‘N Text in the three Commissioner’s Cup semifinal games last conferences. Mitchell is expected tonight to lead his team who will miss out Gilas Pilipinas standouts Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro, Ranidel de Ocampo and Larry Fonacier.
In the main game of the PBA Governor’s Cup Friday match-up, Petron Boosters will feature Elijah Millsap’s debut against Mario West of the Meralco Bolts. Elijah Millsap is the brother of Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap. During the tune-up games Millsap showed his blend of athleticism and physicality. The Meralco Bolts on the other hand will rely on the returning Mario West.
Mario West just arrived on Thursday for return to the PBA, he is the late replacement of the Bolts prospect import DJ Kennedy.
