Prudentialife Planholders Caused Chaos During Claiming of Checks

Prudentialife planholders trooped to the company’s  office in Makati to claim their checks from the initial liquidation of the company with thousands of them causing chaos.

According to the Insurance Commission there are 60,000 checks available for release but the representatives who took over Prudentialife were overwhelmed by thousands of planholders. The representatives decided to impose a cut off upon reaching 2,000. Those who do not receive their checks were very furious.

For the 2,000 planholders who luckily got the chance to enter the office also ended up not receiving their checks because the Insurance Commission accommodated only 1,000 planholders, leaving the rest fuming with anger.

The Insurance Commission, however, (–foul word(s) removed–)ured that all planholders will be accommodated until 8:00 PM, 6 days a week (including Saturdays), until December 2013. The Prudentialife said that they no longer have control over the procedure since the Insurance Commission took over. They have a petition for injunction filed with the Court of Appeals.

  2. sir/maam, i have 1 pension and 1 memorial plan… my refund is schedule already under batch 2 and batch 4, how can i receive my refund???? i’m here in Bacolod City

    • According to their website, if we are living outside Metro Manila then the only option is for them to deposit our checks through our personal BDO Account. You will have to email them a copy of your 2 vaild ids, BDO P(removed)book with your name and account number, and policy contract plan and send to [email protected]. However, after doing this, I actually did not receive any advisory from them. So I am waiting for their update…

  3. Hi! Thank you for your write-up. At least I was able to hear an update as to what is going on with the check claims. I belong to Batch 4 and my schedule of check release was yesterday. Since I am in Tacloban City I sent them the requirements via email since August but I never received any advisory as to when they will deposit my check. With your article, perhaps I could (removed)ume that they can’t just accomodate all of us and it might really take a while before they would email back as to when they will depost my money through BDO. I have been calling them but all I get is an answering machine.

    • We are also trying to contact directly the Insurance Commission but due to the huge influx of PPI complaints we were not accommodated also, but rest (removed)ure that our team of bloggers are constantly updating the information given to us by both the PPI and the Insurance Commission.

  4. Gud day, i’m a educational plan holder of batch 1, but still on board the ship. i’m planning to claim the check when i go home by jan 2014 . they can still process and gave may checks?

  9. Gud day. We personally submitted the requirements for the refund. But until now, we haven’t received any reply when to get the check. More than a month already had p(removed)ed. All I know is that the check is already there but you required required us again to submit the requirements. Please let us know when it can be released already. We are from Iloilo.
