Kris Rosales is one of the few Filipino-Americans who are eyeing for a slot in the world’s most popular basketball tournament, the NBA. The 6-feet tall Filipino American is the most outstanding player in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
The 22-year-old is the pride of the small Christian school Hope International University in Fullerton and has received college All American honors as he led his school to an all-time high of 24 wins during the past season.
The Fil-Am basketball star had a chance to work out with some of the NBA teams or have an opportunity to go to the NBA. He has tried out with Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings, Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors.
Kris Rosales was born and raised in Southern California with his mother Jean, a Filipina nurse while his father Neilon Rosales is an architect in California. He began playing basketball at an early age of 4 years old. Rosales was grateful for the rare opportunity of playing with some of the NBA’s top point guards during his tryouts.
The full-blooded Filipino hope to join the major basketball league, the NBA where no Filipino or any Hope alumni has gone before. Kris is currently continuing to prepare himself for the NBA’s Developmental League draft, which takes place later this year.
