During the July 13 episode of The Voice of the Philippines, John Phillip Duka, a radio DJ from Davao made his own rendition of the song “Secrets” by One Republic which impressed two of the coaches in The Voice PH.
Coach Bamboo and Coach Apl.de.ap were really impressed with the performance of John Phillip Duka so they wanted him to be part of their respective team. Although John Phillip admitted that he is such a huge fan of Apl.de.ap since his first days in the Black Eyed Peas he opted to be part of Team Kawayan or Team Bamboo.
With the inclusion of John Phillip Duka to Team Kawayan, he will join the following equally talented artists:
