Paolo Contis can’t be friends with his exes and here’s why
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis has this answer when asked if he can be friends with his ex-partners.
Paolo’s love life is one of the most talked about celebrity relationships. His breakup with actress LJ Reyes was quite controversial.
When his relationship with actress Yen Santos started blooming, the online community actively talked about this as well, until speculations surfaced that they broke up and the rumor that the actress gave birth to her child with the actor.
Just recently, Paolo Contis became the first guest of Your Honor, the comedy talk show of House of Honorables Madam Chair Tuesday Vargas and Second Honor Buboy.
The actor was asked if his friends with his ex-girlfriends. Before LJ and Yen, Paolo was married to Lian Paz and they had two daughters. He said that he is “civil” with his exes.
“It’s a different story saying their friends and civil it’s different. And we have reasons to be ‘di ba. So ako, hindi ako naniniwala na ang mga mag-ex dapat maging kaibigan. Unless, you actually have reasons to be,” the actor said.
When asked why he believes that ex-partners cannot be friends after they broke up, he said that it is because the separation already happened.
For him, it is out of respect for his current partner because this could be an awkward thing for her. “‘Yung hindi kayo nagaaway okay ‘yun. Yung civil kayo, like when you see each other, ‘Uy! Hey! How are you? Blah blah’,” he said. adding that being “friends” could not be an ideal thing for him with all the regular catching-up moments.
Tuesday said that it could be had to detach the emotion from what past and current situations you are in now.
“Especially kung may partner ka nakakahiya. And I believe, ako, hindi mo rin gusto ‘yun, kung ‘yung partner mo ganun,” the Kapuso said.
As of this writing, Paolo Contis has not reacted yet to the rumors that he now has a baby with Yen Santos.
