Bagyong Huaning Signal No. 1 Raised in Batanes

PAGASA declared the public storm signal warning signal no. 1 raised over Batanes Group of Islands as Bagyong Huaning made a landfall in the Philippines.

Typhoon Huaning maintained its strength and was last spotted 1,150 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes at around 4:00 PM. The typhoon was packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.

The typhoon is bringing an estimated rainfall amount of 15 to 30 millimeters per hour (heavy to intense) within its 800-kilometer diameter according to PAGASA. It is moving west northwest at 20 kph.

PAGASA is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning.
