Updated: The Holy month of Ramadan or the month-long fasting celebrated by our brother Muslims worldwide especially in Mindanao will tentatively start on July 9, 2013. The start of fasting based upon the Islamic tradition will depend on the sighting of the astronomical new moon.

The sacred month of Ramadan for 2013 is a period of sacrifice where Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, commission of sins and other worldly activities. It is a time of spiritual reflection and worship.

Our Muslim brothers in Mindanao are expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam and to avoid obscene and irreligious sights and sounds.
Based upon previous declarations, the Philippine government usually declares the first-day of fasting as a Muslim holiday in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
We will update this post as soon as the declarations will be made by the government.
