Former Filipino world boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr. may soon get a chance for a rematch against his tormentor, the WBO/WBA super bantamweight title-holder Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Top Rank promoter and Donaire’s big boss, Bob Arum is confident enough that the fight will eventually happen in the near future. Arum was quoted as saying that, “A rematch is in order,” Bob Arum stated.
Bob Arum added and admitted that Donaire used the wrong tactic during his defeat against Rigondeaux by dropping his game plan and chasing the defensive specialist Rigondeaux.
Despite Donaire’s lost, Arum believed that Donaire will do better once he meets the former Olympian Cuban fighter again on their upcoming rematch. The Filipino Flash might be making his ring return sometime between September and October.
