Blackwater Dethroned NLEX in PBA D-League Foundation Cup

The Blackwater Sports Elite ended the supremacy of the former PBA D-League champion NLEX as they became the first team to win a championship trophy. Blackwater dethroned NLEX in the finals of the Foundation Cup.

The PBA D-League Finals ended with the final score at 80-74 in a game held at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. During the game, the Elite trailed by 17 points, 52-35, early in the game but they came back after a big third quarter.

Blackwater’s Justin Chua scored seven of his team’s first eight points in the fourth quarter and gave Blackwater a 69-64 lead. Robbie Celiz also came up with crucial points in the final minute of the match.

Robbie Celiz scored with 20 points and six rebounds while Chua added 17 and six of his own for the Elite. NLEX was led by Nico Salva, who finished with 14 points, four rebounds and five (–foul word(s) removed–)ists in a losing effort.
