Smart Gilas Suffers Back-to-Back Losses in Dubai

The Smart Gilas Pilipinas suffered a back-to-back losses at the 24th Dubai International Basketball Tournament against Sporting Aramex of Jordan. The Nationals was defeated by a more experienced Jordanian team.

The game ended with the final score at 75-65 giving the Coach Chot-mentored Gilas team their second straight loss. According to Coach Chot the team which was comprised mostly of amateurs could not contain imports Darrin Dorsey and form PBA import Alpha Bangura.

The Smart Gilas ends the cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ification round with a dismal 1-2 win-loss slate. They will face Beirut-base team Sagesse in the cross-over quarterfinals as they they to bounced back.

The participation of the National Team in Dubai is just part of a series of preparation for the Philippines as they will host the FIBA Asia Basketball Championship this year.
