Philippine Volcanoes Secured Spot on Rugby World Cup Sevens

The unfamiliar sports for the Filipinos, Rugby have made another contributions to the growing number of sports alternatives that gives honor to the Philippines, as the Philippine Volcano secured a slot for the upcoming Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow.

The last third spot which was given to Asia was captured by the Philippines as they finished third runner-up in the recently held HSBC Asian Sevens Series in Singapore on Saturday.

The Philippines was able to defeat South Korea with the final score at 22-19, in Singapore. They will be joining Asian power rugby teams from Japan and Hongkong in the 24-team competition next year.

Although the Philippines was earlier defeated by the Japanese with the final score at 17-7 in the semis they have bounced back and defeated South Korea for the final slot in the Rugby World Cup Sevens.
