Banal vs. Sor Singyu Knock-out Video Highlights

The pride of the Philippines, AJ “Bazooka” Banal fell into the hands of the visiting boxer from Thailand, Pungluang Sor Singyo who claimed the vacant WBO Bantamweight Title.

Banal was stunned by the Thai boxer in the 9th round of the Pinoy Pride XVII main event on Saturday night held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Thai boxer who was ranked no. 2 in the WBO got his biggest victory of his boxing career. He crushed Banal with a huge combination in the 9th round and forced AJ to the ropes and nearly out of the ring.

Veteran international referee Tony Weeks called a stop the bout although Banal managed to beat the 10-count but the Cebuano was unsteady on his feet. The bout was stoppe at around 1:45 mark in the 9th round.

Although Banal was leading in the score card with two judges scoring 77-74 in favor of Banal and the other judges favored Sor Singyo with 76-75 score card according to RingTV report.

AJ Banal suffered the second loss of his career dropping his record to 28-2-1 with 20 KO’s while Sor Singyu won his 20th straight victory.

The undercards of the Pinoy Pride XVII were dominated by Filipino boxers. Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista won over Daniel Ruiz, Jason Pagara defended his WBO International Junior Featherweight Title against Miguel Antoine via 1st round TKO.

Michael “Bruce Lee” Domingo knocked out Uganda’s Mudde Ntambe Rabison in the second round.
