Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire was able to defeat Toshiaki Nishioka in the 9th round of the Junior Featherweight World Title Fight held at The Home Depot in Carson City, Califonia via a 9th round TKO.
The 29-year-old Donaire retained his title and ended the 8-year winning streak of the Japanese Toshiaki Nishioka.
The Filipino champion landed a right straight to the jaw of the Japanese Nishioka which put the Japanese champion downed at around 1:54 in the ninth round.
With the win Nonito Donaire currently hold a career records of (30-1, 19 KOs) and retained his WBO and IBF Junior Featherweight and made a winning streak at 29 wins.
On the Japanese part Nishioka goes down with his career records which is at (39-5-3, 24 KOs). Nishioka on his part was the current holder of the 122-pound WBC Super Bantamweight Title.
Donaire captured the WBO 122-pound title against Wilfredo Vazquez and he later added with his IBF title against Jeffrey Mathebula.
