The Philippine Azkals was not able to score a goal during the first half of the match against the visiting team, Guam National Football Team who made some adjustments in terms of defending against the Azkals.

The Azkals have some clear chances but failed to capitalized on every attacked as the Guam defenders were able to depend well the goal of Guam. One of the most prominent member of the Guam National Team who have defended well the Filipinos was Jonathan Romero of Kaya FC.

Demitrius Omphroy, a former member of the MLS Professional Football Team Toronto FC have debuted for the Azkals and earned his first cap as a senior. He was a former member of the Panama U-21 team, aside from playing with the US U-15 and U-16 squad but still eligible for the Philippines.

The Philippines controlled most of the ball possession during the first half of the match with a total of 11 attempts compared to Guam who have made only a total of 6 attempts.

The Azkals made a total of 5 shots on target while Guam made a total of 3 shots on target. No team have converted on their respective attempts.

For the first 45 minutes of action each team failed to score which ended the first half with a nil-nil on the score card.
