The candidate from the People’s Republic of China Miss Wen Xia Yu was crowned as the winner of the Miss World 2012 during the coronation night held at the Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.
Miss Wen Xia Yu received the crowned from the previous winner, Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela.
The 62nd edition of the Miss World Beauty Pageant was the biggest turnout in pageant’s history with a total of 116 candidates from different countries and territories.
The win by the Chinese candidate was an added bonus because of the fact that the competition was held in the country. Miss World 2012 winner Wen Xia Yu was so grateful that she ended up bringing home the crown.
The first runner-up was awarded to Miss Sophie Moulds of Wales, while the second runner up goes to Miss Jessica Kahawaty of Australia.
Making it to the top 7 finalist were candidates from South Sudan, Jamaica, India, Brazil, Australia, and Wales.
