G-Speak: Hi-Tech Computer System Behind the Film ‘Minority Report’ Becomes Real

One of the most advanced technology in the computing world is the introduction of the hi-tech gesture controlled system. The system made it’s prominence when it was used in the hit film “Minority Report,” the technology has become a reality.

The technology used during the 2002 Steven Spielberg film featuring Tom Cruise who speeds through video on a large screen using only hand gestures is making its way into the real world.

John Underkoffler, the developer of the interface who currently worked with the Los Angeles firm Oblong Industries, the company who commercialized the product.

The G-speak was able to integrate a huge amount of data and video into a single interface which will be needed in crime-solving operations of different government agencies. The inventors stress that the program is not the same with the “pre-crime” detection solutions as illustrated in the Minority Report movie.

The data gathered through the program will able to create souped-up video-conference capabilities where participants share data from multiple devices like smartphones and tablets, integrated into a large video display.
