Lady Gaga’s Teacup and Saucer Sell at Auction for £46.5k in Japan

The China teacup and saucer once used by Mother Monster on her Tokyo press conference for the MTV event last April was being sold in an online auction in Japan. The auction was held last May 6, 2012 local time.

The teacup and saucer of Lady Gaga printed with the words “We Pray For Japan” and along with her autograph, was attracting more than 1,300 bids from fans in a week long which drawn more than six million yen. Other item being auctioned was the Kawai crystal piano used by Yoshiki of rock band Japan X, which went for £85,413 (11,001,000 yen).

The money raise for the item being sold will help those who had been affected by Japan’s worst post-war calamity, a humanitarian effort that will send young Japanese artists affected by the calamity to study in the United States.

Lady Gaga will be in Japan this week for the Asian Tour concert, “The Born This Way Ball.”  The Mother Monster Lady Gaga has visited Japan twice, after the disaster which cost the lives of thousands of Japanese.
