The well-known 24-years-old female activist and contributor for ABC News who gained widespread attention when she was kidnapped at the age of 14 and recovered for almost 9 months is finally engaged!
According to the reports from Us Weekly, “Elizabeth got engaged last weekend in Salt Lake City. She’s incredibly excited about this next chapter in life and pending wedding.”
But Smart and her representative who confirmed the news remain tight-lipped about every further detail of the proposal, wedding plans and even who her fiance is.
“She has decided that she wants to keep the details of her personal life private,” her rep said. “She wants to continue to be involved with her child advocacy work, but, at the same time, she doesn’t want her husband or children to be in the spotlight.”
Moreover, her father, Ed Smart, also confirmed it but isn’t revealing many details, including the groom’s name, just says that he is “a very nice man” and that she “wants to keep it very private and feels very strongly about that right now.”
“We’re very excited for her. She told us at home last Saturday. I wasn’t really surprised. They’ve been very happy together. We’re just thrilled. We’re lookingforward to her moving on to this next stage and leading a very happy life,” her father said.
Smart is very rewarding about her career, and as a contributor for ABC News, she “helps our viewers better understand missing person stories from someone with the perspective to know what a family experiences when a loved one goes missing,” an ABC spokeswoman said.
Matthew Gilmour is rumored to be Smart’s fiance but although both parties doesn’t want to give some clue about the wedding, we wish her best as she finally decided to settle down! 🙂
