East Timor wins first gold at SEA games

East Timor, a state in Southeast Asia that comprises the eastern half of Timor island has won it’s first gold and silver medals at the 26th Southeast Asian Games in Kempo.

East Timor’s Julianto Perreira and Dorceyana Borges won gold in the artistic kyukenshi category, and Domingos Savio and Fidelia da Costa Perreira took silver in yudansha.

Host Indonesia took its competition leading medal tally to 149 golds, while Thailand is second with 94 while Vietnam retained third place in the medals table with 84 golds, followed by Malaysia on 52, and Singapore with 41.

SEA Games which will run until Tuesday in Jakarta, Palembang and West Java and about 6,000 athletes from 11 countries are participating.
