Former President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo banned to travel abroad

Arroyo’s camp will not leave for Singapore on Thursday, November 17, 2011 said Elena Bautista Arroyo’s Spokeperson said Wednesday evening.

The former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and former first gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo were supposed to leave for Singapore for treatment. The flight scheduled to depart at Tuesday evening; November 15, 2011 was barred by the immigration officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) holding their p(–foul word(s) removed–)port.

The Department of Justice orders to ban the travel of the former President Arroyo and her husband for the reason of several pending cases against her. Arroyo was allegedly rigged the 2004 election in her favor.

On the other hand, Arroyo’s camp is claiming the rights for travel since the Supreme Court (SC) had issued Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against banning the former President to travel abroad.

After the traumatic experience, former President Arroyo’s blood pressure shot up that triggers numbness in the parts of her upper body.

Arroyo now remains her physical condition unfit for travel. Her condition is now closely monitored by the doctors of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig, Manila.

Meanwhile, the NAIA incident is one of the domestic incidence of the country showing weak government system to the public in the since the two equal power of the government is defying legitimate order against the other, said Supreme Court spokesman Midas Marquez.
