Benjamin Raña to compete in triathlete in Hawaii Ironman

Benjamin Raña from Camarines Sur was recognized as the Ironman of Camarines Sur, Philippines and commissioned to compete in the “Ironman World Championship” to be held in Kona, Hawaii on October this year.

Raña survived from all screening and stand out to be the only competitive triathlete among the entire Filipino aspirants to join the competition. He was a cyclist for more than a year and a distinguished 4th Filipino has finished the recent held Ironman in Camarines Sur. Raña was the only Bicolano have survived in the top 30.

Raña was determined to win the competition. He made regular training at least 6 days a week in various categories like biking that remains his forte, clocking at the speed of 37 kph. Raña also runs at 15kph and swims at 4kph.

Raña was also able to get the 6th place during the Ironman competition held in Thailand last December 2010.

Raña is an active member of the “CamSur Tri-Team” the recognized official triathlete organization in Camarines Sur. The provincial government of Camarines Sur is also doing its best to support as a sponsor of Raña during the Ironman competition in Hawaii.
