Considered to be the “World’s Best Restaurant”, El Bulli, a Spanish restaurant situated in the town of Roses had ended their 27 years in the business but on their way for transformation.
The historic last serving was specially prepared for the restaurants staff and their families.
It may be closing their doors from the public but they will soon be coming back, in fact, on Sunday, El Bulli will be launched again as a location and center for research in the field of cooking. Research for new flavors and new cooking styles will be the main purpose of the to be launched El Bulli Foundation.
This popular restaurant, aside from being named as the “World’s Best Restaurant” by well-respected magazines in the world is owned by Chef Ferran Adria.
El Bulli and Chef Adria had been noted to be the pioneers of new cooking styles and the restaurant is best known for its specialization on molecular gastronomy.
Aside from the unique taste and cooking style, another unique character of the restaurant was that it only opens six months in a year and Chef Adria as reported via yahoonews is using the other six months in his exploration. He explored and travel the world as he searched and discovered new ideas and practice new cooking techniques which he will be offering to the next opening of El Bulli.
To recall, part of El Bulli’s unbeatable achievement and recognition was topping the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for five times. Giving the said recognition was Restaurant Magazine. The selection was done basing on the opinions, observations and choices of more than 800 industry experts such as chefs, critics and the like.
As it will be re-launched on Sunday as El Bulli Foundation with concentration on cooking related studies, Chef Adria said that the official re-opening of El Bulli will be on 2014.
