Every good deed deserves recognition and that was what the popular Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie got.
With teary eyes, Jolie stood in the stage facing a crowd who gave her a standing ovation as she was given a special award from the Saravejo Film Festival in Bosnia.
Her appearance and arrival to the mentioned festival was unannounced.
Bosnia is closed to the heart of Jolie for she had been visiting the place as performed her duties as the amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador of goodwill. She had been linked and part of the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR.
As she stood in the standing crowd last Friday, Jolie said that she would be starting to cry if the people would not stop.
She had received a heart-shaped award or the Honorary Heart of Saravejo as a special recognition for her film “In the Land of the Blood and Honey.” This film is about the love story existing between a Bosniak ( the term for Muslim Bosnian Woman) and a Serb. Apart from the love affair, the conflict of the story flames on the fact that the two were divided during the war.
“In the Land of the Blood and Honey” is set to be released this December. This movie is Jolie’s first film of being a director. Bosnia has been a vital element in the mentioned project since she had chosen Bosnia’s 1992-1995 war as the setting.
Accompanying Angelina in the unannounced attendance in Saravejo’s Film Festival closing ceremony was her loving and very supporting partner, renowned actor Brad Pitt.
At the car, Angelina revealed that she told Brad that she was really afraid that she might cry.
The said special award was given to Angelina not only because she is a great artist. The award do not only symbolized her great contribution to field of cinema but also the award is recognition to her contribution and engagement to the real world through her charity related works.
