Deparment of Interior and Local Government (DILG) fact-finding committee found basis to file administrative charges against Davao City mayor Sarah Duterte regarding the July 1 demolition punching incident.
A report was sent Tuesday to President Benigno Simeon Aquino III containing the recommendation to file charges against Duterte said DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo.
DILG already sent two lawyers to Davao two weeks ago to investigate and gather testimonies and evidence from witnesses of the incident.
Robredo said Duterte’s repeatedly punching of sheriff Abe Andres on his face and the back of his head is indeed a salient finding according to the investigation.
“Malinaw na may kasalanan si Mayor Duterte. Totoo pong may circumstances na mitigating pero ang action niya ay kasalan iyon,” he said.
