FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation) The international governing-body for the world’s most popular game of football had featured Philippine Azkals coach Michael Weiss in one of its article posted in the official FIFA website. German Coach Michael Weiss were interviewed by FIFA correspondents for the achievement of the Philippine National Football Team.
The recognition by the FIFA website was another achievement by the Philippine Azkals, the efforts they had made during their previous matches had been under constant watch not only by it’s Asian counterparts but also worldwide.
During the interview, Coach Weiss stated their preparation against one of Asia’s powerhouse football team, the Kuwaiti National Team. The team which demolished the Lebanese National Football Team with a score of 6-0.
Coach Weiss was so confident with the way the Azkals were improving for the past six months. He stated that the preparation may be not enough for his Philippine Azkals but he is consistent that the he believed the dedication more preparation will bring them to greater heights.
The Kuwaiti National Football Team was way ahead in terms of world rankings but the German Coach were not looking at the numbers. The attacking Kuwaiti footballers should be defended at all cost.
If the Azkals could limit the goals of the Kuwaiti through tough defense it will be a different ball game when they will be coming home to Manila which had been proven earlier with their game against Kuwait. The support given by the Filipino fans had triggered tremendous inspirations for the Filipino players. It had been proven once it can be done again.
During the interview Coach Weiss was quoted as saying “Kuwait should be the hardest task for us so far,” the 46-year-old told FIFA.com. “They are a very strong team in Asia. I wish I had a year to prepare for the match-ups, rather than a couple of weeks, then we should have a good chance against them.” said Coach Weiss.
