GMA network is now taking the spotlight. Based on nationwide rating measurement conducted by the rating service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement the industry GMA Networked, Inc. (GMA) is taking the lead over ABS-CBN network which happened to be their closest competitor.
The latest epicserye of GMA “Amaya” starring Marian Rivera quoted as the primetime queen got almost the highest points of most watched program in the country. The epicserye was said to be one of the big budgeted programs of the network.
According to the ratings this July 1-7, GMA’s vital margin was reached 3.1 share points against ABS-CBN. GMA was rated to be the number one network channel nationwide with household share points of 33.1 while ABS-CBN got 32.1 for almost the past sixth months this year.
On the other hand, “24 Oras” also dominating over “TV Patrol” by 2.2 points in Urban Luzon. The partial rating done this July was also dominated by Kapuso network. Aside from GMA, 21 more companies were using the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement as to (–foul word(s) removed–)ist in their performance rating nationwide. However, according to GMA news site, they said that ABS-CBN is the only local network currently subscribes to Kantar Media also known as TNS.
But according to Kantar Media ABS-CBN is still the leading TV station all over the country. Based on their performance rating in June 2011, the average audience share of Kapamilya network was 37% while Kapuso network got the average of 32%. It is indeed a five point’s higher gap.
Thus, no matter the rating say’s; it is still up to the audience of Philippine TV to decide. See this ad of GMA network that talks about the rating:
