At around 7:42 the Azkals had the chance but Guirado’s kick was depended very well by the Sri Lankan team. At 900 Stephen Schrock had a chance also but failed to make a good shot at the ball. On the third try James Younghusband tried a long kick but failed to make it.

First half have ended the Philippines now on the driver’s seat with 2-0 scores and leading the aggregate scores 3-1.

At around 69th minute Cheffy Caligdong’s attempt was foiled by Sri Lankan defender and he was down and brought out of the game with a stretcher but no serious injury. At around 71st minutes Ian Araneta attempted but failed to make a goal. Araneta replaced Phil who had already made two goals for the Azkals.

The Philippine Azkals had won the game and advanced to the second round of the Asian Qualifying Match for the 2014 Brazil World Cup. They will play against the tough Kuwaiti teams for the second round. The final score was 4-0 and 5-1 in aggregate.
