New York Governor inks bill for gay marriage

Parties were thrown and New Yorkers celebrated, this was after their Governor Andrew Cuomo had finally inked the bill allowing same-sex marriage in their state.

And within 30 days after the signing, many were excited especially same-sex couples for they would be legally allowed to tie knot.

In the history of the United States, New York is the sixth state which finally allowed same sex-marriage along with Connecticut, Iowa, M(–foul word(s) removed–)achusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and also the District of Columbia.

In a statement, New York Governor Cuomo expressed that New York had finally broken the barrier and the reason why same-sex couples cannot enjoy the privilege of legal wedding ceremony.

The Governor had really proven his words when he once said that he would sign immediately the bill as long as it falls to his office after deliberation and undergoing proper and lawful process from the state senate.

Activists especially gays were definitely rejoicing their victory. With this bill, they were expecting to totally achieved and enjoy fairness and equality in the society.

Moreover, well-known gay rights advocate and singer Lady Gaga also expressed happiness with the latest event, in her tweet, she posted that she can’t help but cry.

Adding to the historical declaration, New York State is also the first state whose legislative chamber is dominated by Republicans who voted for the approval of allowing the marriage between same-sex.
