One of the famous senators and known to be a fighter in the house of senate Miriam Defensor Santiago and his husband former Interior Undersecreatry Narciso Santiago celebrated their 40th year anniversary as couple and in connection to that the two renewed their vows at the Manila Cathedral.
In the said celebration many prominent personalities coming from different sectors of the government and TV personalities came and witnessed their renewal of vows.
Present in the event are President Aquino; best man, Ms. Heart Evangelista as the maid of honor and several other figures from the government.
Also spotted in the occasion are former presidents Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Joseph Ejercito Estrada who also took part in the program as principal sponsors.
Senator Miriam arrived in the venue wearing a red gown with his husband Narciso dressed with Barong Tagalog. The two expressed their happiness after many people attended their renewal of vows despite the bad weather.
In a short interview granted by Senator Miriam to the media, she said that she choose to wear red in the ceremony to signify the 40 years of their marriage.
Prominent personalities who were seen to arrive in the ceremony are former first lady and Rep. Imelda Marcos, Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, Justice Consuelo Ynares-Santiago, Chief Justice Corona, Chairman of Lopez Group Oscar Lopez and many more.
