The basketball superstar Shaquille O’Neal announces his retirement last Wednesday afternoon after he has posted a 15 second video on his twitter account.

Shaquille O’Neal who is currently playing under the Boston Celtics has suffered an Achilles tendon injury that greatly affected his play in the last season. In the record he only played about 37 games and tried to return again in the court to play against Miami Heat but only lasted for 12 combined minutes in which many said did not greatly helped the team.

In one of his interview, Shaquille O’Neal said that he wants to comeback in the court but the injury that he has won’t let him. The basket superstar admitted that his Achilles is very much damaged and this wont be back again to normal. In order to recover from it, Shaq decided to retire from basketball and live in a public life.

He also said that he don’t want to be a hindrance to his team the Boston Celtics and disappoint his fans like what happened last season.

Looking back at Shaquille O’Neal’s contribution in basketball, many would say that his almost 2 decades of playing basketball has been a satisfying performance. Since he first entered in the NBA back in the year 1992, Shaq has been in four championship games and three of which when he was still in the Los Angeles Lakers team and one in Miami Heat. He was also awarded as the Most Valuable Player in 2000. Over all Shaquille O’Neal appeared 15 times in the All-Star games in NBA.

Aside from being a basketball player, Shaquille O’Neal has also entered the world of entertainment and appeared to several films.

Indeed many analysts said that Shaquille O’Neal has been a big help to every teams he has been and has earned a big respect in world of basketball.
